Summary

The aim of this project is to help children become more aware of their daily behaviors related to wastefulness, such as wasting water, paper, and food. We will support them in recognizing the importance of caring for each other as individuals to make the planet a better place and protect what is valuable for our future. Additionally, we will find engaging ways to make the concept of sustainability tangible for the children, enabling them to understand and reflect on their actions.

Impact on Learning

The project has significantly impacted participant learning in several areas. Students have gained a deeper understanding of sustainability, particularly in identifying recyclables like plastic bottles and paper. They have developed practical skills through hands-on activities, such as sorting materials and repurposing recyclables in creative crafts.

Notably, the children have become more mindful of their behaviours, showing awareness of food waste and paper usage. They now remind each other to use less water while washing their hands and to turn off lights when leaving the classroom. These positive behavioural changes indicate their growing commitment to caring for the environment, both in the classroom and at home.
