Exciting News Welcoming Our New Board of Directors

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! As Compass Education continues to grow and expand our impact, we are welcoming a new Board of Directors—an exceptional group of leaders who bring deep expertise in education, sustainability, philanthropy, and governance. Their experience and global perspectives will help us take Compass Education to the next level, ensuring we continue to empower educators and students with the tools to navigate complexity and drive meaningful change.

We are honored to have Ken Kay as our new Board Chair. Ken is the Founder of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills and former Board Chair for PBL Works. He will be joined by a distinguished team of leaders:

  • Dan Barcan – Partner at Schoolhouse Partners, Trustee of Friends of the Blue Hills
  • Alejandra Ycaza – Leader of Global Development at Fundacion Reimagina, Project Manager at Universidad Casa Grande
  • Rachel Brody – Head of Global Partnerships and Resources at Teach for All
  • Chris Tebben – Principal at Sapient Solutions LLC, Former Executive Director of Grantmakers for Education
  • Elaine Reimann – ADRA Technical Advisor, Global Educator with 20 years of experience

Ken Kay shared, “The challenges facing our planet demand that young people not only understand sustainability issues but also develop the skills to take action. We are committed to equipping educators with the tools they need to help students become systems thinkers and problem solvers who can drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.”

With their collective expertise, our new board will work closely with our team to strengthen our programs, expand our reach, and support educators worldwide in fostering systems thinking and sustainability leadership in their schools and communities.

I also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the previous Board for their leadership and service. Thank you Robert Steele, Taylor Steele, Watkana Thongrueng, Kate O’Connell and Lara Johnson.

We are excited for this next evolution of Compass Education and are grateful for each and every one of you! If you would like to learn more about Compass Education or have questions about the new strategic direction, please reach out to me directly.
