Become a Compass Educator

(Compass Education's Level 2 Certification)

To become a Compass Educator (Level 2 certified), educators who have completed one of our Level 2 courses must design and implement a personal action plan for using systems thinking tools to create systemic change in their context. These action plans range in scope. Some educators focus on classroom culture change, others target their school systems, and some even focus on their broader community. Each action plan reflects an active effort to be a system changemaker for sustainability using Compass Tools.

Action Steps:

  1. Use your learning from your Compass Education Level 2 course to design a personal action plan working towards systemic change using the Compass Tools (at least one).
  2. Carry out an action plan and collect evidence to document your work (photos, work samples, video, reflection artifacts, etc). It might be the one you created during your Level 2 course, or a new one you’ve developed using what you learned.
  3. Share your reflections and evidence in the form below.
  4. Wait up to two weeks for feedback from our Compass Certification Review to make edits or finalize your submission.
  5. Get certified!

Note: All educators must receive their Certificate of Completion for their Level 2 course before they are eligible to have this application reviewed.

Focus on Learning, Not Knowing

Achieving systems change is a journey, and not every action plan will lead to the exact outcomes we expect or desire—that’s part of the learning process! Your action plan will NOT be judged on whether you fully achieve your systems change goal. Instead, it will be assessed based on the thoughtfulness, clarity, and reflection you bring to the process.

By working through this action plan, you are building valuable skills and growing as a systems change maker. Every step you take is progress!
