The upcoming Partner Power Summit is sure to be another outstanding event. The Trust for Sustainable Living is a global education charity, based at the Living Rainforest centre in West Berkshire, UK. They are a focal point of sustainability education in the UK and are globally recognized for their wildly popular Essays, Debate and Sustainability Video competitions.
This year the theme for the event is Protecting Biodiversity with the intention to improve collaboration to protect biodiversity and reverse the sixth mass extinction.
Sadly, the UN Decade on Biodiversity (2011-2020) achieved very little, with rampant biodiversity loss continuing and all international targets missed. But 2021 could be a game changer, with a host of events like the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) serving as key opportunities to help reshape our future response. Young people, and the future generations they represent, have the most to lose from this ongoing mass destruction. The online 2021 Summit offers an exciting range of discussions & workshops, designed to help inform and empower students, teachers and schools on a shared journey to create a more sustainable world.
Compass Education will be participating in the Partner Power Summit in July. Compass will be a featured presenter offering two days of interactive workshops illustrating the ways that the Sustainability Compass and Systems Iceberg can contribute to students’ understanding of biodiversity and action for change. Approximately 1,000 students and teachers are expected at this event!
