SUMMARY:Partnership for the Goals Educator Exchange
DESCRIPTION:The Partnership for the Goals Educator Exchange will take place on October 26 from 01:00 to 02:15 PM UTC as part of the 2024 Sustainable Schools Day celebrations! \nThe Partnership for the Goals Educators Exchange’s primary goal is to bring together educators and school leaders worldwide who are curious and passionate about cultivating sustainability through their schools’ practices\, actions\, and education. To begin our conversation\, we will use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a shared reference point for how we might educate and act to promote sustainability. \n  \nEvent Details\nThis 75-minute event will be broken into two parts: \nPart 1: Inspirational Speaker Panel\nAn informative\, inspirational speaker panel featuring organizations who focus on helping advance quality education for sustainability education and action. They will share why schools or school systems should include sustainability in their practices\, actions\, and education and one free resource your organization has to share that could help them begin or deepen their journey toward sustainability in their classrooms or school community. \nOur panel will include: \n\nAlysha Alva\, Marketing & Communications Executive\, The World’s Largest Lesson\nAnna D’Addio\, Senior Policy Analyst\, the UNESCO GEM Team\, Report\, and PEER profile leader\nNicole Swedlow\, Executive Director\, Compass Education\nSteve Cochrane\, Executive Director\, The Institute for Humane Education\nPatricia Bergström\, Project Officer and Alumni Relations\, Global Schools Program\n\nPart 2: Educator Exchange Groups\nWe will facilitate a discussion among you—our participating educators—on practices\, actions\, and education your schools are undertaking to cultivate sustainability. We want to hear from you! Come ready to share about your own projects\, experiences\, and questions on cultivating sustainable schools and learning communities. We will use your RSVP responses to help determine recommended discussion prompts for the conversation. \n  \nAttend Live\, and get entered for free learning opportunities! \nWe want you to join us live in person on October 26 for a meaningful exchange! DESCRIPTION:Do you want to get your hands on tools that integrate sustainability into student learning?\n\n\n\nJoin the Green Educators and Compass Education team in a conversation about the Sustainability Compass model\, an extremely useful tool for educators to start educating for sustainability. Discover the model and how it can be used from the perspective of students\, teachers and the school leadership teams. With real-world examples to build off\, be inspired and ready to implement the model in your own learning environment – wherever you are in the world.\n\nThe Sustainability Compass is a powerful tool commonly used at Green School Bali. It ensures we as a school community look at sustainability in a holistic fashion. In this talk\, we will learn a little about the model\, and how it is used when discussing SDGs from the student perspective\, teacher perspective\, and within the leadership team.
