BACS 2012 at Green School, Bali, Indonesia<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n

The fifth \u2018Becoming a Compass School\u2019 workshop was held on the beautiful natural campus of the Green School, Bali, Indonesia on April 6-9, 2012. Joining this four-day workshop was a small but diverse group of fourteen\u00a0educators from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Japan and the USA.<\/p>\n

The primary focus of this workshop was using the Sustainability Compass as a teaching and learning tool to enhance classroom lessons, student exhibitions and projects, and with a special focus on student-led service learning in the community. \u00a0Participants got hands-on practice using the Compass and ISIS Pyramid to build an integrative community service program connecting the Green School with the surrounding Sibang Community, with special emphasis on building positive reciprocal relationships between the community and the school based on mutual trust and purpose. Participants also strengthened their understanding of the processes and tools needed to support institutional transformation in relation to sustainable development using the AMOEBA role-play game as a model for innovation diffusion and cultural change.<\/p>\n
